I've also on occasion gone out with a group of dealers and pit bosses after their shift outside the casino or met up for a meal before their shifts started etc. Defeats the purpose of tipping them during the play but they sure remember me and since I generally stay at one place and play one or two games I'm OK with it as I do tip during play also. I don't know about all places, but where I play I have been able to arrange to tip direct to certain dealers at the end of my stay. If I were a dealer, I'd take my chances on getting stiffed vs rewarding the bad apples.I would agree with this but I'm not a dealer. Tip pooling has positive and negative effects. I realize that dealers have long days and put up with crap by lots of people but if someone is willing to place a bet for you, cheer up. Needless to say, next two hands I didn't even get a face card so I just cashed in my winnings and left. She actually yelled NO, and moved the bet to the side. I explained the previous dealer told me to do it this way and we were both very successful. This continued until the another dealer took over who proceeded to tell me I could not put the bet that way. Sure enough, next hand was a straight and everyone was happy. 4:1 for a flush and the dealer said I needed to put the dealer bet on top of my pair plus bet but off-center. I asked why the tip was not paid based on the hand, i.e. With each win the dealer was getting a 1:1 pay out. I was placing a bet for the dealer on each hand by putting the chips next to the pair plus bet. I was playing 3-card poker and was doing quite well, making pair plus hands like eight consecutive hands. I will make a tip if the dealer is nice and I'll tip more when I'm winning. Sure, I tip more if I am winning, it's easier that way.I agree. If they make it more fun for me, then I tip. Now, I do tip dealers but for one reason and one reason only.
